Collective Bargaining Orientation
A practical course for people who prepare employment consultations in Germany and need a shared orientation on collective bargaining before entering the room.
Learning outcomes
- Locate wage, allowance, and working-time clauses inside a sample Tarifvertrag
- Draft a consultation agenda that separates facts, options, and open questions
- Brief executives on realistic ranges without inventing legal advice
- Document agreements and open points in a format works councils recognise
- Spot when external counsel should join versus when orientation is enough
- Run a 45-minute role-play that mirrors a mid-size German employer setting

Instructor
Anja Feldmann
Anja has facilitated bargaining orientation workshops for mid-size employers in Germany for over a decade, with particular focus on multi-site HR teams and newly elected works councils. She designs Streamline Saas scenarios from anonymised consultation notes, not textbook theory alone.
Course reviews
“Module 2 alone paid for our seat. We stopped printing the entire Tarifvertrag for every meeting and started with the three annexes that mattered.”
Short note from a participant in Würzburg: the leadership briefing kit cut our pre-meeting email chain from twelve messages to three.
“Solid structure. The capstone felt compressed for hybrid teams joining from three sites, so we repeated the role-play internally.”
FAQ
Is this legal advice?
No. Streamline Saas provides educational orientation on collective bargaining and consultation practice. Binding advice on your specific agreement should come from qualified counsel or your employer association.
Who should attend together?
Pairs work best: one HR or operations lead and one works-council representative. Solo learners are welcome and receive adapted role-play partners.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not cover sector-specific Tarifverträge in exhaustive detail. If your industry agreement is highly specialised (for example certain craft trades), you will still need an expert familiar with that text to validate clause interpretation.
Language of delivery?
Instruction and materials are in English, with German terms retained where they are standard in practice (Tarifvertrag, Betriebsrat, and similar).
